Aberden, Scotland

Abeerden in Scotland rarely appear in the list of favorite tourist town. In fact, this city has just received an award as hidden gems like the fifth destination in the world of Lonely Planet travel magazine.


Previously, Aberdeen is often described as a city blighted by travel writers. In fact, the Rough Guide travels sites, claiming that the emerging oil industry in Aberdeen to make this city lost soul classic, making it a ghost town with 'life' corporation '.

"The color of the building is dominated Aberdeen gray Granite City’s increasingly sour," according to a review site, as reported by Dailymail, Thursday (02/23/2012).

But Lonely Planet travel writer’s magazine, Abigail Blasi, instead praising the splendor of the third largest city in Scotland, notably the University of Aberdeen and the coast and the chapel of King of the 15th century in it. He also described the village as a beautiful beach for tourists to wander the coastal side of the dream. Aberdeen city is now hailed as a hidden gem that became rivals in the Moroccan city of Meknes, the City of Utrecht in the Netherlands, the City of Helsinki in Finland, Jerez de la Fontera in Spain, and Takayama in Japan.

"It is time for Aberdeen to receive the praise that encouraged increased tourism," said Fiona Jane Brown of Aberdeen Hidden tour agencies. "Aberdeen has long been a 'hero' in Scotland, and even has a history that can rival the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh," he added.

In addition to Aberdeen, the other cities chosen for the award of The Most unsung Destination respectively, is Trieste in Italy, Arras in France, Gujarat in India, and Chongqing in China.
